OUR NEW COMERS HUB - Helping New Immigrants
We are thrilled to welcome you to the GOSPEL FAITH MISSION INTL (GOFAMINT) TOG Newcomers Hub, a dynamic and welcoming resource center designed to facilitate your journey to Calgary, a city renowned for its glamour and diversity. As newcomers ourselves, we understand the excitement and challenges that accompany the process of acclimating to a new environment.
TOG Newcomers Hub is here to ensure your transition is as smooth and enriching as possible.
At TOG Newcomers Hub, we’re more than just a church community; we’re your companions in this exciting chapter of your life.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive network of services, support, and resources to help you integrate seamlessly into the Calgary community.
ALL SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE. (CARRIED OUT BY OUR TEAM OF CHURCH VOLUNTEERS)
OUR FOCUS AREAS INCLUDE
1. Airport Pickup: We offer airport pick-up services for free.
2. Smooth Settlement: We offer guidance on finding suitable housing, navigating transportation options, and accessing essential services. We also help with searching for suitable accommodation and moving your things. We do sometimes provide temporary stay for free with some of our members who have available spaces to give out for temporary use.
3. Cultural Integration: Discover and appreciate the local culture through programs, events, and workshops.
4. Employment Services: We assist you in finding employment opportunities by offering job search resources, resume building, and interview preparation.
5. Healthcare Assistance: Connect with healthcare resources, ensuring you have access to medical services and understand the local healthcare system.
6. Free Coaching and Mentoring Services: Through our mentoring program, we help match newcomers with mentors that can help them in their chosen careers: medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, accountants, and mental health professionals. We also offer free coaching services and pastoral counselling.
7. Social Support: Build connections and friendships within the community through social gatherings, mentorship programs, and support groups.
8. Community Outreach: Engage actively with the wider Calgary community to foster understanding and collaboration between newcomers and long-time residents.
